Aerosol and Lacquer on Wood
Public intervention in the village of Shatana in Jordan whereby a signage system was introduced for existing as well as imaginary landmarks. In developing the signage, I collaborated with a Jordanian calligrapher to develope a unique (and somewhat peculiar) type-system specifically for the village. Unique iconography was also developed to go with the particular nature of the village. The wooden signposts (approximately 3 meters in height) were commissioned from local carpenter.
The project took place during a the two-week residency of the Shatana International Workshop organized by Makan in Jordan.
