Dustjacket, Coverwrap, and endpaper design for Sim Kern’s speculative fiction novel THE FREE PEOPLE’S VILLAGE from Levine Querido.
The book centers around a punk band that gets caught up in a protest movement. I sought to reflect that in the design by having the dustjacket unfold into a poster plucked straight out of the world suggested by the narrative, while the coverwrap imagines the record the protagonists in the book would’ve produced. The endpapers depict handmade maps that might be photocopied and handed out if the particulars of the protest movement depicted in the book were to unfold.

Cover art and design for A WALTER HILL FILM, a book that covers the entire filmmaker’s entire oevre written by none other than Walter Chaw, with an introduction by James Ellroy and an afterword/appreciation by Edgar Wright.
The cover art features a portrait of Walter Hill comprised from some of the most memorable scenes from some of his most iconic films, at least to me anyway. See if you can make out scenes from THE WARRIORS, 48 HOURS, STREETS OF FIRE, and RED HEAT to name but a few.
